It's been nearly four years since the Xbox Series X|S revolutionized the gaming world with its next-generation capabilities. However, the landscape is set to evolve once again following Microsoft's announcement at the 2024 Xbox Showcase.

Three exciting new editions of the next-gen console are on their way, with a sleek Robot White Xbox Series S, an All-Digital Series X, and an impressive 2TB Galaxy Black Xbox Series X ready to join the ranks before the year ends. Let's take a closer look at the details...

New Xbox Consoles

As mentioned, three new Xbox Series X|S variations are on their way, each bringing something new to the gaming landscape.

Xbox Series S – 1TB in Robot White

The 1TB Xbox Series S launched in Carbon Black only last year, but it's now time for the same enhanced features to grace a sleek Robot White design.

The new Xbox Series S retains its compact, modern aesthetic while doubling the storage capacity to a 1TB SSD, allowing you to keep even more of your favorite games at hand.

Xbox Series X – 1TB Digital Edition

Up next is a brand-new all-digital Xbox Series X, now available in sleek Robot White with a 1TB SSD.

This powerhouse console brings the usual unparalleled speed and performance of the Xbox Series X, just without the capacity to play discs. Typically, removing the disc reader lowers the cost, which is a huge boon for some people who'd prefer to upgrade their setup for less.

Xbox Series X – 2TB Galaxy Black Special Edition

The final console announced is a special 2TB Galaxy Black Xbox Series X, inspired by constellations, out of space, and the spirit of exploration and adventure.

Microsoft has also confirmed a matching Xbox Wireless Controller is on its way too, featuring a Galaxy Black D-pad and Velocity Green back case. However, this controller will only be available with this particular special edition console.

Release Dates

At first, the only information Microsoft shared was that the three new consoles would hit the shelves at some time during the holiday season. Since then, however, pre-orders have gone live, and a concrete release date has been confirmed.

Microsoft has announced that the consoles will be released on October 15, 2024, at 5:00 am. That's an early kick-off, so make sure you set your alarms or secure your console of choice ahead of time by pre-ordering...

Prices and pre-orders

Those prices essentially align with the price of Xbox Series X|S consoles that have been released so far, so no real surprises on that front. That said, Microsoft didn't give the price of each console in GBP in its announcement, although there's a chance each console will cost the same in pounds as they do in euros based on the price of the current crop of consoles in the UK.

That wraps up everything we know about these consoles so far, but stay tuned as we'll be keeping this article updated with the latest news as and when it arrives.
