For any sneakerhead or streetwear enthusiast, Medicom Toy's Bearbrick figures are a familiar sight. These bear-shaped models have transcended their toy origins to become prominent fixtures in the art and home decor scenes. Their immense popularity has turned them into highly sought-after collectibles, driving some models to fetch astronomical prices on the resale market. The allure of these bears lies not only in their unique designs but also in their limited-edition collaborations.

Because of their popularity, we've compiled a list of the most expensive Bearbricks around today. To do this, we've considered the current market on StockX as well as other top resale markets, and, as expected, the top spots are dominated by the 1000% Bearbrick variation, which stands at 27.5 inches tall. These larger models are particularly coveted, but it is the specific designs and exclusive collaborations that truly elevate their value. Here are some of the priciest Bearbricks commanding top dollar in today's market.

5. KAWS x Bearbrick 6th Anniversary 1000% Red

Six years after the launch of the brand OriginalFake, KAWS teamed up with Bearbrick and dropped this 6th Anniversary 1000% Bearbrick all the way back in 2012. Today, it resales around the $8,000 mark (yes, we're only at number five...).

Part of the reason this Bearbrick has such a high resale value is that it features a unique monogram-esque design on fabric that can be unzipped to expose the bare brick below. However, its exclusivity also adds to its price, with it only ever releasing in Ambush, Singapore. That means it's incredibly rare and helps explain a lot about its price tag.

4. KAWS x Bearbrick Dissected Companion 1000% Brown

Moving up in price but sticking with KAWS, the 1000% Dissected Companion comes in at number four as its sales average is just over $8,250 at the time of writing.

Launched in 2010, it stands out as a grail piece for many collectors as it boasts a chilling half-and-half design that exposes a "dead bear's" internal organs for maximum horror and creepiness. It's said that under 600 of these Bearbricks were ever made available too, hence why it'll break the bank to buy one today.

3. Royal Selangor x Bearbrick Tiger 1000% Silver

Next up is Royal Selangor, one of the largest pewter manufacturers and retailers in the world, and its collaboration with Bearbrick. This unique silver creature sells for around $8,850 on the resale market on average, although the lowest asking price on StockX right now is close to $25,000, thus ranking it third here.

Its exclusivity is the key to that inflated price tag, however, there's also an important message from Royal Selangor to take home with this release. Its design was inspired by the Malayan tiger Panthera tigris tigris, whose estimated population in the wild is less than 150 (in 2022). To draw attention to that, this Bearbrick features a unique tiger-like face, putting the magnificent animal at the forefront of people's minds.

2. Karimoku x Bearbrick Brick Style Tiles 1000% Wood

Coming in as the second-most expensive Bearbrick around today is Karimoku's Brick Style Tiles Wood collaboration. The Japanese-based furniture brand is known for its top-end products, but it still seems a little surprising to see this rather plain-looking Bearbrick sell for around $10,000 on average through StockX.

Why is this the case? Firstly, this figure is said to be handcrafted out of wood and made to order rather than mass-produced, meaning it's an incredibly rare Bearbrick to source. Its initial retail price was also incredibly high ($5,381 according to StockX), which makes that $10,000 resale price not seem so bad by comparison.

1. Karimoku x Bearbrick Horizon 1000% Wood

No, Karimoku didn't miss out on the top spot, because the manufacturer's Horizon Wood 1000% model is arguably one of the most expensive Bearbricks around today, costing $22,000 on average at the time of writing.

That price tag is astronomically high, but once again, this model is said to be handmade to order and supposedly retailed for $5,380 when the design was first made available. That means it's incredibly rare and clearly very sought-after—a dangerous combination when it comes to items that are as collectible as Bearbricks.
